Today, the creative campers in CGI’s Fab Lab showed off their work to family and friends. Fab Lab is an afternoon program for campers interested in innovative ideas in technology. Their main focus was learning how to program technology to react according to the environment.
Since it is an older group, the campers got to come up with their own projects using the technology available to them. Many campers collaborated and created several different projects.
One group came up with a device that could sense light in the room and adjusted it’s LED lights according to how light or dark the room was. They placed their hands over the sensor to demonstrate. The same group also produced a device that allowed people to play old video games that aren’t readable by current systems.
Another camper used a 3D printer to create a few items. Some of them she designed herself while others she used a program to alter the file in order to work with the printer. In addition, she also worked on a virtual reality project. She filmed a game of tennis with a 360 degree camera and inserted it into a virtual reality.
These were just a few of the creative projects campers worked on this week. Thank you for a fun and fab week, keep thinking outside the box.
