Can you handle the truth? Campers participating in the Debate course offered within the Center for Growth and Innovation (CGI) are conducting their own individual debates this week at ESF.

At the start of the week, the group was given a list of topics to choose from as discussion points to debate and resolve. Campers chose the topics they were most interested in debating but were not given the choice of whether they were going to argue FOR or AGAINST the subject. As is true in a real prosecutor or attorney’s job, campers were then randomly selected to represent each side of each argument.

Topics being debated include Capital Punishment, the Legality of Suicide, Smoking Laws, and Standardized Testing. After researching popular opinions and real-life implications of each topic, campers put on their very own debates!
