Campers enrolled in the Super Cool Science course within The Center for Growth and Innovation (CGI) spent most of their day in a room full of vacuum-sealed animals and arteries. Today was dissection day!
CGI Counselors Mr. Steve and Mr. Paul walked campers through the process of dissection on three different subjects including a young dogfish shark, a full-grown squid, and a spotted bullfrog. Each camper learned how to use tools such as a scalpel, shears and tweezers to open up and dissect the different animals. Using biologic diagrams of the animals, campers were able to locate and remove particular organs one by one and learn more about each creature.
