Simulating Script-Writing

Spark1Campers participating in the Project Spark class walked through a small obstacle course in their classroom and took down specific course directions in an effort to simulate how to write script for a mobile video game character. As part of the Center for Growth and Innovation (CGI), the class will ultimately teach campers how to use a web-development program called Spark to make their very own video games.

Spark2CGI Teacher, Mr. Andrew, challenged his group of campers to walk through their small obstacle course and record vividly detailed directions that were so specific that he could follow those exact directions and make his way through the course. The object of the exercise is to teach campers the importance of using specific terms and particular wording when it comes to writing their own web-script. To create an actual web-based game, campers’ characters will follow HTML written directions on how to walk, jump, or simply move.
