The Center for Growth and Innovation and the S.T.E.M. Center is offering an Engineering course called “Robotics 101” this week. Campers involved are learning all about what kind of parts and pieces need to be put together in order to create robots in the form of construction vehicles, cargo carriers and even modern-day automobiles.
Today, campers were given the task of creating a robot that is able to move through a small obstacle course. Robots must pick-up a tennis ball, carry it through the course, and put it back down at the end. They started by making diagrams of their designs and working in groups of two or three to brainstorm their best ideas. Then campers started piecing together arms, wheels, and body parts to build their robots. We can’t wait to see how they turn out!
