The Center for Growth and Innovation is hosting an Academic Prep course for students Pre-K through Kindergarten that is all about learning the stylistic ways of illustrator Eric Carle. The renowned children’s artist, best known for his illustrations in the book titled The Very Hungry Caterpillar, creates his images using distinct colors and shapes.

Campers learned how to make images just like Carle’s, using oil-based paints to decorate tissue paper and then clipping shapes from that paper to create abstract collages of common objects like animals and toys. Our campers are so artistic!
