The Center for Growth and Innovation is offering a number of engineering and robotics courses at camp this week include a “Pre-Engineering Using LEGO” class for campers in grades 1st through 3rd. The class aims to teach each camper how to go beyond using LEGOs as a toy and understand how to carefully construct certain LEGO pieces to create motorized and battery-powered objects.

Our Engineering and Robotics Specialist Mr. Sal had a blast with campers today! After he taught everyone how to combine LEGOs, wheels, nuts and bolts to make a motorized LEGO car, campers were able to create their own landing strip or racetrack to test out their creations. Some of today’s campers said they wanted to make their LEGO cars into real cars one day!
